The mid-west has produced the hardest working, most dedicated employees throughout the country and that is something to be proud of. As times change, we need to be up to date with the latest technology and research but we also need to remember foundation that the United States was built upon and keep those valuable virtues as the heart of our education system.
Education is not only teaching history, science, reading, math and writing. It is should also be the teaching of American ethics and values. Those values are reflected in the Constitution, The Federalists' Papers and many of our countries' founding documents. This requires having the conviction to be honest about what courses will actually help students in their future. If a community wants to continue to grow and produce successful students, they must spend the tax-payers money efficiently and effectively. We need to continue creating an environment where parents not only feel empowered at their local school district meetings, but actually are empowered and know that their voice is being heard.
