Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that representatives from Bank of America will be at the Hilton in Memphis, Tennessee for a Mobile Tour on July 23 and July 24 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to provide local customers with the opportunity to meet with specialists who can provide counsel, review files, and review options for loan modifications and other alternatives to foreclosures.
"There is a foreclosure crisis in Memphis and throughout the country," said Congressman Cohen. "The Bank of America Mobile Tour will be at the Hilton Memphis to help local residents with their mortgage concerns and can provide families guidance on how best to keep their homes. Congressman Cohen has authored two bills to help struggling families keep their homes. His bills would clarify the authority of bankruptcy courts to operate mortgage modification programs, and would implement a competitive grants program for states and local governments to establish mediation programs.
