I believe that when we hold our legislators accountable for how they vote then we will see a drop in spending and a redirecting of funds into essential areas rather than spreading the "pork". The Sunshine Bill has had a rough year languishing in a house committee all year and barely making it to the floor before the deadline to pass to the Senate. Now, in the Senate legislators are trying to kill it in the name of protecting the citizens of South Carolina. This is just another example of how badly we need transparency in our legislature. Accountability is a key to getting our overspending legislators under control.
