Arizona's greatest resource is the beauty and diversity of its land. David has a strong record of supporting environmental standards that keep our air, land and water clean. During his service in the Arizona State Legislature, David earned an "A" grade every year from both the League of Conservation Voters and the Sierra Club.
In Congress, David will continue to be an advocate for renewable and alternative energy development and bringing an end to subsidies to Big Oil, whose profits are at an all-time high. He will support extending the Section 1603 Treasury Grant that provided over $185 million to Arizona businesses to develop green energy solutions. He is committed to creating a federal renewable energy standard of at least 20% by 2020 and to the extension of the Production Tax Credit for wind energy.
David understands that as a nation, we must make the protection of our environment and the creation of a clean energy infrastructure a priority. Through targeted tax incentives and responsible federal regulations, Congress can encourage needed growth in the alternative energy sector and generate investment in a sustainable future.
