Today, Congressman Dan Lungren voted to repeal the Affordable Health Care Act.
Doctor Ami Bera offered the following comment:
"Instead of working to find real solutions, Congressman Lungren is playing politcal games all while taking a vote to protect lavish health care plans for all Members of Congress. Now that the Supreme Court has acted, we need to move forward to make health care more affordable for American families and small business owners."
"We can't go back to the days where women were forced to pay more than men for the same coverage and where all children were not able to receive basic health care. But we also need to find new ways to address the rising cost of health care so families and small businesses can afford quality coverage moving forward."
"As Chief Medical Officer for Sacramento County, I took on big pharmaceutical companies to lower the cost of care and increase coverage; in Congress I will do the same."
Dr. Bera is a lifelong Californian. He and his wife Janine and their daughter reside in Elk Grove.
