Today, Nevada Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, the proud daughter of a World War II veteran, issued the following statement applauding President Obama's address at the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Convention in Reno. Congresswoman Berkley was unable to attend the VFW Convention due to previously scheduled votes in Washington.
"I'm proud to welcome President Obama back to Reno, and applaud his address today at the 113th National Convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The President and I both believe that our country's commitment to those who serve their country in our armed forces must be unwavering and enduring. Whether it is fighting to make sure those that return from the battlefield have access to good-paying jobs, the care and treatment they've earned, or the ability to go back to school and further their education, our commitment to Nevada veterans must never cease."
