Today, U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) released the following statement following his vote in support of moving forward the Bring Jobs Home Act (S. 3364).
"Once again, the Senate missed a real opportunity to address our nation's ailing economy. Congress should be doing everything within its power to create jobs and ignite growth. The American public has been waiting for Washington to act on our most pressing problems, yet Washington is mired in partisan bickering. By not allowing open debate, the majority party has stifled progress on any legislation to address our nation's economy. It's past time for both Democrats and Republicans to come together to pass a comprehensive jobs package that will get Americans working again," said Senator Dean Heller.
The Bring Jobs Home Act would:
Give companies a 20 percent tax credit for costs associated with bringing jobs that are now overseas back to the United States.
Not allow corporations to take a tax deduction for expenses associated with the relocation of jobs from within the United States to a foreign country.
