Senators Jay Rockefeller, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, and Senator Joe Manchin today announced federal funding for two West Virginia airports to help make important upgrades, improve access and increase safety.
"Keeping our airports and transportation infrastructure up-to-date is so important because they remain a critical link in our state for business, tourism and West Virginia's economy," Rockefeller said. "These grants will help make sure the people of West Virginia and others are safe and have proper facilities when traveling."
"It is so important that West Virginia has the funding it needs to make critical improvements to our infrastructure, which are important for the safety of our residents and for economic development," Senator Manchin said. "Investing in our infrastructure, whether that is through improving our airport runways or fixing up buildings in need of repair, is one of the best ways we can create jobs and make West Virginia a more attractive place to live and do business. It just makes good common sense."
