Senator John Hoeven today announced that Google will host a one-day seminar in Bismarck to assist the state's small businesses in building a website or expanding their online presence. Hoeven invited Google to the state to host the free event, "North Dakota Get Your Business Online," which will be held Friday, July 27 at the Bismarck Civic Center from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
"We welcome Google to our state for this important event, which will provide North Dakota small businesses with the opportunity to grow and expand online," said Hoeven. "Our small businesses are the backbone of our economy. We need to do all that we can to help them to grow and succeed, and this is a good example of how we're working to do just that."
North Dakota businesses will be provided with free services including an easy-to-build Intuit website, a customized domain name, web hosting for one year, and online tools and training.
"The perception that getting online is complex, costly and time-consuming has prevented many North Dakota small businesses from taking the first step," said Scott Levitan, Director of Small Business Engagement at Google. "This program makes it fast, easy and free for businesses to get online."
