Reed Salutes 29th District Olympians; Local Athletes to Compete in London Olympics

Congressman Tom Reed today congratulated four natives of the 29th Congressional District who will represent the United States at the upcoming Olympic Games in London. "It is with a great deal of pride that we salute Molly Huddle, Meghan Musnicki, Henrik Rummel and Abby Wombach for this very rare and impressive achievement of making the Olympic team."

"The dedication, perseverance and discipline that these four athletes exhibit stand as an example for all of us," Reed continued. "We wish Molly, Meghan, Henrik and Abby good luck and eagerly look forward to cheering for them as they compete for the United States.

Huddle, of Elmira, will run for the United States in the women's 5000 meter race on August 7. Rummell, of Pittsford, is a member of the USA Men's Four rowing team which begins competition on July 30. Wombach, a celebrated women's soccer player from Pittsford, is on the USA team which begins play tomorrow. Musnicki, of Naples, will compete as part of the Women's Eight rowing team in competition beginning July 29. Caryn Davies of Ithaca just outside the 29th District is also a member of the Women's Eight rowing team.
