Congressman Bob Turner (NY-09) voted last night to support H.R. 4155, the Veteran Skills to Jobs Act and H.R. 4144, the Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2012.
"As a veteran myself and a member of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, I know just how important our support to help our veterans utilize the incredible amount of skills they learned in the military as part of America's workforce when they return home. We need to commit ourselves to doing what is right for our veterans. These two bills will help our American heroes, some of the most highly trained individuals in the world, put those same skills to use and enable them to provide for their families. As well, H.R. 4114 will provide due compensation for disability to those veterans who were injured in the line of duty to our country. These great men and women are some of the hardest working individuals out there, and that is just what they want to do -- work hard. These bills will help enable them to do just that."
Congressman Bob Turner represents New York's 9th Congressional district and serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, and House Committee on Homeland Security.
