I have received my Master's Degree in teaching and have taught at various levels in the educational system. Education lays the groundwork for the future of our state, and we need to ensure that the system currently in place is the best one possible. Billions of dollars have been spent over the past decade on the WASL, but has it really met the needs of our young people? Can the cost be justified? I say no! We need to take a hard look at education reform in this state, and begin at the top. We need to ensure more freedom to choose curriculums at the local community level, allow school boards to set standards for their communities, while supporting home school environments across our state. When elected to another term as your representative, I will work to ensure that we have the environment that will best allow us to grow and prosper and make sure the next generation has the best opportunities for success in the globally competitive world we live in.
