STAR MOFFATT FOR STATE SENATOR, 21st District
As your State Senator I welcome an opportunity to work for you. I will help create a system that promotes fairness, accountability and transparency. I have a six year record of public service in the U.S. military, defending our freedom as well as record of unofficial public service through my community involvement since 1994. I have lived in the 21st District community since 1989 and will continue continue to be a dedicated voice to our community.

I will bring the knowledge I have gained in various leadership roles throughout my many years of community involvement and education to the position of State Senator. Furthermore, I have a strong commitment to nurturing collaborative relationships with the private and public sector.

As your next State Senator for the 21st District I will use my "leadership experience" and expertise to initiate an innovative approach towards an open door policy with a Citizen's Platform Committee that best meet the needs of the 21st District community. I do recognize that my goal is to serve the public and address issues affecting our community. No matter how small or large our concerns may be, and because I believe in promoting fairness, accountability, transparency and justice for every person within the 21th District, I will take our ideas to the next level and listen to the voices surrounding me.

As your State Senator I will make sure community based organizations, faith based organizations, private sector businesses and individual citizens have a voice in the legislation that I submit because your concerns matter to me and I will be the voice of the people, by the people.

ISSUES AFFECTING THE 21ST DISTRICT

*Protection of our Public Educational System.

*Protection of Jobs.

*Protection of Voter rights.

*Healthcare

*Disenfranchised small to midsize business owners.

*Elderly members of racial and ethnic minority groups.

*People with disabilities.

*Veterans

*Higher pay and case load reduction for Public Defenders.

*Property Taxes

*How to create jobs even while our economy is still in a recession-depression.

*Disproportionate arrests having a back-lash to all persons and how it affects our community.

Within the 21st District and at the State level we must find ways to increase efficiency, reduce costs and promote fairness, accountability and transparency. Our 21st District community and the State of California are in a crisis and we must find a way to work together during these catastrophic times. I have a Platform as well as a method to address each one of the above issues affecting both our community and individual citizens. It's time for change.
