Jerry led the effort to relocate one of the world's largest solar firms from Maryland to Belmont creating hundreds of local jobs. He worked for a year coordinating efforts between the Governor's Office of Economic Development, the State Board of Equalization and the City of Belmont. He also introduced legislation, Assembly Bill 1X 15, that was signed by Governor Brown allowing solar companies to reduce the up-front costs of solar installation making it more affordable for homeowners and businesses. The tax certainty created by the legislation was critical to retain existing solar firms and attract new companies from other states. On October 10, 2011, Jerry joined Governor Brown for the official unveiling of SunEdison's new global headquarters in Belmont. Jerry's experience and perseverance brought all levels of government together to get results.
