Press Release

Date: July 13, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Senator Lisa Murkowski today announced Sonia Henrick (previously Christensen) will join her team Monday as the new Southeast Alaska Representative -- working out of Murkowski's Ketchikan field office.

"Sonia's knowledge base is that of a born-and-raised Ketchikan resident, combined with a high degree of policy expertise from her time working for Governor Parnell," Murkowski said. "She has broad experience working on issues of statewide interest, as well as focused background in Southeast Alaska."

Henrick comes to Sen. Murkowski's office from Gov. Sean Parnell's office, where she worked as Deputy Legislative Director since 2010. Before working for Gov. Parnell, she worked as an aide in the Alaska State Legislature for four years. Henrick is a graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage with a degree in criminal justice and is pursuing a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast.

Henrick replaces longtime Ketchikan staff member Sherrie Slick, who is retiring after 25 years of service to the United States Senate.
