Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., announced today that West Virginia has been awarded a grant totaling $4,114,117 from the Department of Transportation to help with the removal of debris from storms that hit the area last weekend.
"I am delighted to see this generous grant coming to our state, and I know that it will be very useful in clean-up efforts in the area," said Capito. "It has been a hard week for many people, and we are working diligently to repair the damage caused over the weekend. The citizens of West Virginia have been very patient and have worked tremendously hard to keep their family and neighbors safe after the storm. This grant will help our state to return to normalcy."
