We do not have a money problem at the State, we have a spending problem. Bureaucratic waste and spending on needless programs must be eliminated. Repeated tax and fee increases, as well as excessive borrowing are not the answers.
We must address our spending and be prepared to take the difficult and necessary steps to reduce it. Getting our State Government to live within its means is essential. I have shown that I have the fortitude to make these tough decisions, even if unpopular.
One easy example is to eliminate all agencies that duplicate services of other agencies, such as Cal-OSHA.
