Much of the new District #1 is covered by public lands. I believe that public lands, purchased and maintained with your tax dollars, are for the public to enjoy.
Unfortunately, many in the government have taken the approach that the citizens should be denied entry to parts of these public lands through road closures and restrictions. It will take a strong leader to stand up to these agencies and special interests groups. I will work to regain these rights of the residents in our district.
I have proven over and over again that I possess the leadership to stand up and do the right thing. As a member of the Redding City Council I helped to initiate Co-ordination with the U.S Forest Service over the closing of the Beegum OHV area in our District. I currently represent the City on the Co-ordination team.
