Wyoming has been ranked 1st or 2nd in workplace fatalities nine of the last ten years. The legislation passed last year was an attempt to sidestep the issue as the addition of inspectors doing voluntary safety reviews was not enough. The legislature needs to work with Governor Mead to raise workplace safety fines and penalties. We need to have spot inspection to see how the companies are actually operating. There's no sense of anybody going to work and not being able to come home.
