"This year as we approach our celebration of July 4th -- the anniversary on which we declared our independence as a sovereign nation -- our nation's heroes who have served and sacrificed. More than just words, our veterans also deserve the care and support they were promised, and the benefits they have earned.
"We need to make certain that our country's veterans have the opportunity to receive a quality and affordable education, which will help them get better paying jobs and continue to be leaders in our communities.
"Montanans understand as well as anyone the sacred trust that our country has with those who wear the uniform of the United States of American. And, this bond is more than just trust -- it's a commitment that begins for our veterans at enlistment, and never ends. However, too many of our wounded heroes are going without the care and support they have earned.
Steve and I are focused on addressing the needs of veterans as Governor and Lieutenant Governor."
