Heller Responds to National Unemployment Figures

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) issued the following statement regarding the national unemployment figures released earlier today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

"People across the country continue to face great difficulties in this economy. Far too many Americans are unemployed or have simply given up looking for employment. Job creators need certainty to invest and grow. Unfortunately, they are not getting that today from Washington. Congress needs to stop worrying about the next election and put in place policies that will not only ignite economic growth but also get our country back to work. I remain committed every day to job creation and delivering the solutions hardworking Nevadans are asking for and deserve," said Senator Dean Heller.

In June, the economy added only 80,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate remained at 8.2 percent.
