Issue Position

I seek to change the Michigan tax code imposed by our current Republican-led Legislature, which negatively impacts senior citizens and the hard working middle class citizens of Michigan. Some of the recent tax changes include a tax on retirement income and a reduction in the homestead tax credit, which were done to grant tax breaks to benefit big corporations.

I support repealing these unjust tax burdens for seniors and middle-class families. I recognize that today, many Michigan residents have a limited source of income and cannot afford additional financial burdens imposed by the recent changes to Michigan's tax structure. These changes also negatively impact the goal of creating a viable economy for Michigan.
