Congressman Bob Turner (NY-09) released the following statement about today's passage of the federal transportation bill, H.R. 4348.
"I stood up against the last transportation bill presented before the House because it neglected the transportation needs of New York. This bill, while not ideal, comes much closer to addressing the needs of our community by providing an additional $200 million dollars in funding for mass transit, and, more importantly, creating stable, lasting jobs. The long-term nature of this bill will give companies confidence that projects will be funded allowing them to plan, stimulate hiring and commerce, and create meaningful economic stability and consistency. This is a great bi-partisan effort that will help keep New York's roads safe and get New Yorkers back to work."
