As the representative from the 158th district, Scott will push for realistic budgets. He will protect education funding and ensure that it is the top priority in the State's budget. In addition to protecting education funding, Scott will push for audits on all state agencies. The state government should operate in a fashion similar to a business. State agencies should not be spending all the money they are allocated, but should instead be streamlining processes and finding new ways to reduce expenses. Although unemployment insurance and many of Missouri's welfare programs are necessary, Scott will push for entitlement reform so there are incentives for people to better themselves instead of staying on the system.
