Ronald Reagan once said "Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it." Those words have never been more true. Within the last year, government has expanded at an incredible rate. The government has now taken a prominent role in business and industry once left to the private sector. The hallmark of the Republican Party has always been that our nation prospers when government's role is limited. I believe we should be working towards smarter government -- not bigger government. As your next State Representative I will oppose unfunded federal mandates that expand the role of government and strain our state budget. I will work to ensure that state government fulfills its core responsibilities more effectively and more efficiently.
