Matt Doheny, the Republican, Conservative and Independence candidate in the 21st Congressional District, is embarking on a 50-business tour from July 9 to Aug. 27.
"Jobs are the single-most important concern of the residents of this district," said Doheny. "Unfortunately, there are scarce opportunities for upstate residents because of my opponent's policies. His desire to tax job creators and his work to keep burdensome regulations in place have convinced businesses to sit on the sidelines. People are so discouraged by the lack of jobs that many have stopped looking. It's time for solutions that get people back to work."
Doheny will listen to job creators in the district from six key sectors: agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, service economy, high tech and health care. During the 50 day event, the Watertown businessman will highlight his opponent's failed job creation record as well as offer a prescription for how to get Washington working for both job seeker and job creator.
