Wisconsin's tradition of excellent public education is under attack.
The Walker Administration cut $1.6 billion from K-12 public education and gave voucher schools, which are unaccountable to the public, a nearly $300 million windfall. Technical colleges were cut by $71.6 billion, although employers can't find enough qualified workers. The University of Wisconsin System was cut by $315 million.
I believe that Wisconsin needs a great public school system if we want our state to continue to be a wonderful place to live, work and do business.
I think we need a sound technical college system to provide topnotch employees. We must ensure that our university system is affordable and continues to be an engine for economic growth.
