Wisconsin state government spending is out of control. This leads to demands for more and more tax increases. In my first term I stood up and said no to a bloated budget, which would have increased spending by nearly 10 percent.
*When was the last time your paycheck increased that much?
In my second term in office, I opposed a 6.2 percent increase in state spending. This spending increase was at a time of recession and job loss! I also put my money where my mouth was. I supported a pay freeze for politicians and I also am giving back past pay increases to charities within the 89th Assembly District.
I do not support the argument made by the big spenders that merely slowing the rate of growth of government programs amounts to a cut. We must cut bureaucratic waste and red tape to get government off of the backs of families, small businesses, and individuals.
