Issue Position

It is in the strategic interest of the United States to sustain the current treaty with Israel regarding its national defense and foster a continued healthy relationship. The alliance between Israel and the United States has weathered some of the toughest challenges and through it has emerged a partnership that is vital to the stability in the Middle East. I personally remain committed to respecting the Treaty and supporting a long-lasting relationship with Israel. It also remains in our nation's best interest to honor the conditions of past treaties that we have entered in to with other countries, while being cautious about entering in to new treaties and worldwide agreements. As part of a world wide economy, the U. S. has to be prudent about supporting our allies.
