Oakland County has been hit hard by the recession. We've all been hurting due to the rise in unemployment. Right now, statistics suggest 1 in 7 Michigan Workers are without a paycheck. This hurts the state's bottomline for unemployment, strains families, and causes bankruptcies. To solve this problem, I plan to slash government spending and taxes. As a small business owner, I know that when businesses pay less in taxes they hire and retain more employees. We're going to save education dollars for colleges so young people can get the start they need. We're also going to fund the Capital Access Program, that provides government backed and privately administered loans, to small businesses. These will be key parts of getting michigan growing again.
