Governor Chris Christie today vetoed the state Senate's budget plan because of the Democrat's failure to include much needed tax relief for New Jersey's middle class.
Highlighting the need to continue the New Jersey Comeback, Senator Kyrillos called on New Jersey Corzine-Menendez Democrats to end their assault on the middle class and provide the tax relief they deserve.
"Today we witnessed in Trenton what Bob Menendez does everyday in Washington. Rather than pass tax relief for New Jersey families, the Corzine-Menendez Democrats are taking a page out of the Bob Menendez playbook: vote in favor of higher taxes on the middle class while saying you're fighting for them. Talk is cheap -- and after voting more than 70 times in favor of higher taxes and actually calling the largest tax hike in the last 20 years a tax cut -- so is Bob Menendez's record on middle class tax reform.
"New Jersey families are struggling and deserve the tax relief outlined by Governor Christie. We need reform that will spur economic growth, create jobs, encourage investment, and renew America's spirit."
