State Senator and Candidate for U.S. Senate Joe Kyrillos will attend seven Independence Day festivals and parades today and released the following statement commemorating the day that America declared its Independence.
"Today is a day of great pride for all Americans. Independence Day celebrates the freedoms that make our Nation the envy of the world. The freedom we cherish today was hard fought. It was earned through the sacrifice of those who wanted their children and grandchildren to have a better future than the one we were given and enshrined in the belief that through individual merit and hard work that future would be realized.
"Our country faces great challenges. Challenges that threaten the freedoms we fight so hard to preserve. But, as in times past and united as a people, we will continue that fight and rise above them.
"As New Jerseyans gather with their families and friends at parades and barbeques across our great State today, it is my hope that we remember the sacrifice of those came before us and recommit ourselves to that enduring spirit of freedom."
Along with the Paramus Fourth of July Parade, Senator Kyrillos will also attend the Fourth of July Parade in Ridgewood, the Little Falls Fourth of July Street Fair, the 4th of July Picnic in Clifton, the Union County Fourth of July Fireworks in Cranford, and the South Asian July Fourth Spectacular in Edison.
