Great Voter Turnout

Statement

Thank you voters! It was encouraging and exciting to see how many North Dakotans took time to vote in the Primary Election. In fact, roughly 73,000 more people voted this year than in the 2010 Primary. We know that it means great things for November!

Republicans across North Dakota have rallied in a big way and grassroots support for all of our candidates has been unmatched. We will move forward into the general election stronger than ever.

North Dakota is in a very special position right now with our economic successes, but also the needs we have for flood recovery and the investments necessary for infrastructure in oil and gas producing counties. It is with these issues in mind that I am running for governor.

Tax relief, infrastructure investment, and ensuring our economy continues to grow and diversify are all very important at this time in our state history. As Governor I have been proud to make real accomplishments that keep North Dakota moving forward:

Championed a $1.2 billion commitment to infrastructure, water and housing improvements in western North Dakota.
Signed an unprecedented $500 million in tax relief into law.
Kept our budget reserves strong which are now supporting flood recovery and addressing needs out west.
Defended North Dakota against the Army Corps of Engineers for control over the Missouri River.
Right now, North Dakota leads the nation with the lowest unemployment rate, #1 in job creation three years in a row, and personal incomes are rising at a rate more than double the national average. I look forward to working with you and others to keep North Dakota moving forward, and creating an even brighter future.
