Issue Position

A lot of people criticized Obama's job plan, which also included upgrading and updating the United States infrastructure (trains, highways, etc) across the country, because the critics said public job creation isn't as good as private job creation. I disagree.

If you create jobs and people earn money to spend, it will jump start our economy. Even short term (2-3 year) government contracts would be better than no jobs. I would fully support any legislation that had a serious plan for increasing country wide job growth, especially if it helped the state of TN.
