Barton on Holder: "He Is In Contempt of the People and Their Right to Know"

Rep. Joe Barton (R-Ennis/Arlington) issued the following statement after the House of Representatives voted to hold U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder in Contempt of Congress:

"I would think the Attorney General of the United States, more than anyone else, should be willing to comply with legitimate requests for information from the Congress. We represent the people and the people are asking what happened with the "Fast and Furious' operation.

"Unfortunately, this Attorney General and this President have refused to comply, and Eric Holder should be held in contempt. The truth is he isn't really in contempt of the Congress, the Attorney General is in contempt of the people and their right to know."
