H.R. 750, Defending America's Affordable Energy and Jobs Act, reached a legislative milestone yesterday and picked up its 100th cosponsor. The legislation would prevent the EPA from regulating greenhouse gases without Congressional approval and stop Washington bureaucrats from implementing a cap-and-trade program that will drive up energy prices on families and businesses. H.R. 750 has been endorsed by a host of public policy organizations and taxpayer groups, and is a companion bill to Senator Barrasso's (R-WY) S.228.
"At a time when American families and businesses just can't afford further job losses and higher energy costs, this Administration insists on circumventing Congress and burdening our economy through more regulations. I am glad to have 100 of my colleagues join me in pushing back against a back door cap-and-trade program and insist that our nation's energy and climate policy will be determined by Congress, not unelected bureaucrats," commented Rep Walberg.
