Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06), a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, released the following statement on national security leaks:

"The recent, unprecedented stream of leaks on national security matters under the Obama administration cannot continue. Leaks are unacceptable in all circumstances.

"Why hasn't the President shown outrage over this pattern of leaks? The only outrage he showed was that he was offended when someone asked him directly about them. This isn't a partisan issue. This is about the safety and security of Americans everywhere.

"I call on the White House to immediately put a plan into place to stop the pattern of leaks. If someone is found to be the source of leaked classified information, then he or she must be subject to tough penalties. We need reform and we need it now. Leak after leak cannot become the new normal."
