When Jay first ran for the State House 8 years ago, he campaigned on a few key issues:

- Work for Better Education, and
- Make Georgia a Safer Place to Raise your Family.
Jay has consistently delivered on these issues and he continues to work hard day in and day out to better our state. Jay is a public servant who remains focused on how he can best serve the needs of Northwest Georgia. Let's stand with Jay so that we can continue to see progress made on these important issues.
Promises Made -- Promises Kept
Jay has delivered on his campaign promise to create a better business environment in the state of Georgia. In the State House, Jay has worked on numerous pieces of legislation to help stimulate Georgia's economy through the private sector and the free market economy. Jay co-sponsored "The JOBS Act" which would provide incentives to businesses to help stimulate the Georgia Economy. Jay also co-sponsored legislation to create incentives for homebuyers by providing a tax credit for anyone purchasing a home here in Georgia. Jay knows that a better business environment attracts jobs and he has worked hard to improve Georgia's business environment.
Jay has delivered on his campaign promise to work for better education in Georgia -- As the father of two daughters and the grandfather of four young children, Jay knows the importance of our education system. Jay also knows that equality education is critically important to our business environment. In the House, Jay co-sponsored to the "BRIDGE Bill' and the "Move on When Ready Act, two important bills designed to improve our education system. Jay has also fought hard to ensure that our education is protected in the midst of budget cuts during these challenging economic times.
Jay Neal is a trusted and effective member in the House of Representatives. He has taken on the tough issues facing our state. The citizens of Catoosa, Walker and Whitfield counties should make sure Jay Neal returns to Atlanta as their voice this year. -- Speaker Ralston
Jay has delivered on his campaign promise to make Georgia a safer place to raise your family -- Public safety is what Jay is best known for. He has led the effort on the recently passed Criminal Justice Reform, legislation that was included in Governor Nathan Deal's legislative priorities for the 2011 Legislative Session. This bill overhauls our state's criminal justice system to ensure that dangerous criminals remain behind bars, and that Georgians convicted of non-violent substance related violations receive the treatment they need to help them overcome their addictions. Jay has led the fight against the meth epidemic and authored legislation to close loop holes and expand the GBI's ability to collect DNA samples from convicted felons.
