Today, Congresswoman Shelley Berkley issued the following statement on the Obama Administration's announcement to provide temporary relief to Nevadans eligible under the DREAM Act:
"I applaud today's actions by President Obama and his administration to provide relief to Nevadans eligible under the DREAM Act, a common sense measure that would give young Nevadans who go to college or serve their country in the military a path toward legal status.
"However, we need a permanent solution. That means Congress must pass the full DREAM Act for the young people brought to this country through no fault of their own, have served this nation and contribute to our society. Unfortunately, this will never happen with those in Congress like my opponent, Dean Heller, who opposes the DREAM Act, comprehensive immigration reform and even wants to bring the extreme Arizona and Alabama laws to Nevada."
