Boehner: Unless the Supreme Court Throws Out Entire ObamaCare Law, House Will Continue Fight for Full Repeal

Statement

Date: June 26, 2012

This morning, Congressman Boehner talked with Brian Thomas on the 55KRC Morning Show about the pending Supreme Court ObamaCare ruling and vowed that unless the court throws out the entire law -- which is driving up costs and hurting jobs -- the House will vote to fully repeal it. Boehner also discussed the November elections, and the president's failure to put forward a real immigration plan to secure the border and enforce our laws. Key excerpts from Boehner's interview are included below:

>> BOEHNER VOWS HOUSE GOP WILL FIGHT FOR FULL REPEAL OF OBAMACARE, SAYS COMMON-SENSE SOLUTIONS ARE NEEDED TO PROTECT JOBS AND LOWER COSTS:

"We all know that the President's healthcare law is driving up healthcare costs and it's making it harder for small businesses to hire new workers. And I'll say this: unless the court throws out the entire law, the House will vote to repeal whatever is left of ObamaCare. And then we need to enact common sense reforms in a step-by-step process that protects jobs and protects the American people's access to the care they need from the doctor they choose at a lower cost. This is pretty straight-forward in terms of how we're going to react to this."

>> BOEHNER SAYS PRESIDENT OBAMA HAS NO REAL IMMIGRATION REFORM PLAN:

"[I]f the federal government isn't going to do their job, there's no reason why the people of Arizona can't do theirs… we need a real immigration reform plan. [T]he president talked about it during his campaign… and has offered nothing --nothing -- to the Congress, and provided no leadership to get this job done."

>> BOEHNER: OBAMA'S ECONOMIC POLICIES HAVE FAILED, ELECTION WILL BE ABOUT JOBS:

"It's all about the President trying to find a way to win an election. His economic policies have failed, and as a result, he can't run on his record, and he's going to try to make the election about everything other than his failed economic policies… the American people vote with their wallets, the election is going to be about the economy, and he's not doing well."
