Sen. Franken's Statement on Flooding in Twin Ports Region

Statement

Date: June 20, 2012

Today, U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) released the following statement about the severe flooding in the Duluth region:

"My thoughts and prayers are with the people of the Twin Ports region. I've seen the devastation that flooding can cause, but I've already heard about how quickly and capably emergency management and local officials have responded to this disaster. I've spoken with Mayor Ness, and have assured him that if federal resources are needed, I will do everything in my power to secure them. I've asked my staff on the ground to make sure our office is fully available to help in whatever way we can, and I'll be making a trip to the region as soon as possible."
