U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman today announced that two New Mexico health care centers have been awarded grants through the Department of Health and Human Services to expand services to additional patients in their communities.
"Health care centers provide affordable and dependable services to their communities. These additional resources provided through the new health care law will help ensure New Mexicans have greater access to health services," Bingaman said.
The funding for the grants below stem from the Affordable Care Act, the health insurance reform law Congress passed two years ago. The grants are as follows:
El Centro Family Health in Española: $650,000
First Nations Community Healthsource in Albuquerque: $595,833
