Gov. Gregoire's Statement on Supreme Court's Arizona v. United States Decision

Statement

Gov. Chris Gregoire made the following statement on the Supreme Court's Arizona v. United States decision:

"Today's Supreme Court decision emphasizes the need for Congress to act on immigration reform to meet the needs of the nation. As I have stressed before, immigration policy is vitally important to Washington's international trade and agriculture economies. We need national immigration reform that allows agricultural workers in areas where they are needed. Once again, we are facing the prospect of an inadequate workforce to harvest our crops. This is a problem that needs a national solution."
