Gov. Gregoire's Statement on $10 Million USDOT Grant for North Spokane Corridor

Gov. Chris Gregoire today issued the following statement on the announcement that a $10 million U.S. Department of Transportation grant will go to WSDOT for the North Spokane Corridor project:

"The North Spokane Corridor is one my highest transportation priorities and when done will reduce travel time by two million hours each year. Its multimodal approach that accommodates freight, personal vehicles, park and ride, a pedestrian and bicycle trail, and options for future transit accommodate the many needs of the growing region and benefit businesses and families. I thank Senators Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray and Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers for their leadership in helping us win this $10 million award and look forward to this project moving closer to completion."
