U.S. Representative Frank Guinta (R, NH-01) voted for passage of H.R. 4480, the Domestic Energy & Jobs Act on Thursday. It was approved in a strongly bipartisan vote of 248 to 163.
The Act is a package of domestic energy production bills that will reduce high energy costs that hardworking families and small businesses are currently paying, spur economic growth and create much-needed new jobs. The Act reflects an "all the above" approach to increasing energy resources and supplies that Representative Guinta actively supports.
Representative Guinta made the following statement after the vote:
"It doesn't take an economist to tell us what we already know: Granite Staters are still paying too much for energy, and there's still a strong demand for good, middle-class jobs. The Domestic Energy & Jobs Act addresses both needs. It would clear the way for more energy to be produced here at home, which would encourage job creators to hire new employees. When energy costs go down and payrolls grow bigger, that's good for our economy. I urge the Senate to quickly pass this legislation."
