Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today issued the following statement regarding the EPA's response to a delegation inquiry about the aerial surveillance program:
"While the EPA has partially responded to our inquiry, many questions still remain. It is troubling that confidential information could be subject to Freedom of Information requests.
"This issue is not resolved and I will continue to work to ensure the EPA is functioning strictly within its authority while respecting private property rights."
The Nebraska Congressional delegation first wrote Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa Jackson on May 29th requesting information on the flyovers. The delegation sent a follow up to Jackson on June 11th, and received a response on June 12th.
