With the tough economic times our state is facing, we must take the necessary and immediate steps to turn it back around. I have the battle-tested leadership and knowledge to do what it takes to get our economy back on track through small business incentives, less regulation and free market principles.
First, we need to institute incentives for small businesses to help our local economy and grow our job base. Fostering a pro-business environment is essential to getting our economy back on track, and we need to deliver much needed relief and stimulus to small business owners.
In addition, we need to make a concerted effort to attract new businesses and entrepreneurs and bring new industry to our district and state by reducing regulatory burdens and streamlining business practices. We also need to look at the serious threat that Obamacare is going to pose to our district's businesses. President Obama's so-called health care reform represents a $1 billion unfunded mandate that forces businesses to provide their employees with health insurance, making it even more expensive for them to operate and thus discouraging them from hiring more workers.
With record unemployment, our district and state are in dire economic times, and we need to harness free market forces and fight to keep our taxes low, our government small and money in the pocket of Floridians.
