Griffin Cosponsors Bill to Prohibit Back-Door Amnesty

Press Release

Date: June 21, 2012
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Immigration

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement after cosponsoring legislation that would prohibit the Obama Administration from implementing its back-door amnesty agenda:

"There is no question that our country's immigration policy needs a fundamental overhaul, but President Obama's unilateral decision to grant work permits to nearly one million illegal immigrants is an insult to the 23.2 million Americans in need of work. That is why I am proud to cosponsor the Prohibiting Back-Door Amnesty Act, which will stop President Obama from circumventing Congress, ignoring the law and potentially costing Americans jobs for the sake of presidential politics."

The Prohibiting Back-Door Amnesty Act (H.R. 5953) would bar the Obama Administration from implementing, administering, or enforcing any Executive Order, rule or other policy that provides immunity from deportation for illegal immigrants who were brought to the United States as minors.
