We are lucky to live in Colorado, a state that is leading the charge nation wide for the New Energy Economy, the Renewable Energy Standard, and jobs in the clean-tech industry. Governor Hickenlooper forged a difficult yet groundbreaking compromise between the oil and gas industry and the environmental community on fracking, and that's a good first step. However, we need to ensure that we have strong rules in place that protect our air, our drinking water, and our neighborhoods from the dangers of fracking.
It is vitally important to guarantee that as we work together to solve the problems that face us today, we keep the generations that follow us closely in mind. From protecting our air and water, to investing in the New Energy Economy, to maintaining our parks and open spaces, we must preserve the qualities of Colorado that make this state such a pleasure to live in.
