Both air and surface transportation infrastructure are essential elements of our economic infrastructure. They support businesses and create jobs directly and indirectly.

Commercial Airports and General Aviation Facilities

These are indispensable for the vitality of our economy in Eagle and Routt Counties. I will:

*Work with state and federal officials to keep our airports adequately funded given the Federal and State budget shortfalls.
*Oppose the perennial attempt in the Colorado General Assembly to reduce the air fuel tax.

Ground Transportation

We must solve our transportation funding crisis. To that end, I will:

*Support multi-modal transportation initiatives; they save money in the long run and improve our economy, environment, and quality of life by giving us more choices and by attracting tourists.
*Continue to work with CDOT, I-70 Coalition, and local governments to implement improvements in keeping with the recently released I -- 70 PEIS (Programmatic Environment Impact Study) Record of Decision on which so many citizens spent much time and energy building a consensus.
*Transit: work with CDOT, CASTA (Colorado Association of Transit Agencies), RFTA (Roaring Fork Transportation Authority) and local government to protect funding sources like FASTER and partner to secure new funding.

Pedestrian and Bicycling Infrastructure:

These efforts provide an important economic boost, as shown by 2011 sales tax revenues during the USA Pro Cycling events in Eagle and Routt Counties, and they improve the shoulder seasons for our local businesses. I will:

*Continue to partner with CDOT, local government, businesses, economic development organizations, and non- profits to secure funding to enhance our bicycling infrastructure.
*Continue to work with businesses, economic development organizations and non- profits to bring more bicycle events to our communities.
